Rules and Expectations:
PHYSICAL EDUCATION RULES AND GRADING POLICIES
2023-2024 School Year
Kindergarten – 8th Grade
It is very important that the students participate safely and successfully during Physical Education classes. I discuss the rules and grading policies during class and reinforce them with the students frequently. The policies are outlined below for your reference:

Students must:
Consequences for 3rd -8th Grades not following PE rules include:
1st time: Redirection to correct behavior.
2nd time: The student will lose points for the day, have an email sent home and will receive a checkmark.
3rd time: Detention
Consequences for K-2nd Graders not following PE rules include:
1st time: Redirection to correct behavior.
2nd time: Sit out and reflect.
3rd time: Send home an UH-OH Behavioral Notice
Consequences for not dressing in proper Physical Education uniform:
GRADING:
Each student will receive 10 points per day if:
As a reminder, students who do not dress for PE may not participate and will receive 0 points for the day.
Please Note: Since it is not a study period, no homework may be done during PE instructional time.

- Be dressed in proper Physical Education uniform.
- Be engaged and participate safely during all activities.
- Display knowledge of rules and the ability to use strategy.
- Follow directions the first time given.
- Cooperate and perform to their best ability.
- Demonstrate respect and good sportsmanship.
- Stay within specified boundaries.
- Use equipment only when teacher has given permission.

Consequences for not dressing in proper Physical Education uniform:
- The first no dress will result in the student receiving 0 points for the day and an electronic note will be sent home.
- The second no dress infractions will result in the student receiving 0 points for the day and an electronic note will be sent home. In addition, an assignment will be issued to be completed by the student during class. If this assignment is not completed adequately during class, the student will take it home to finish it and return to the PE teacher by 8:30 am the following day.
GRADING:
Each student will receive 10 points per day if:
- Dressed in proper Physical Education uniform.
- Follows directions the first time they are given.
- Actively participates safely in all activities.
- Displays knowledge of the rules and the ability to use strategy.
- Displays appropriate behavior, including respect for classmates and teachers.
As a reminder, students who do not dress for PE may not participate and will receive 0 points for the day.
