Welcome back to another exciting school year at St. Constance!! My name is Ms. Maki, and I am elated as you to get the year off to a great start! My goal is for Physical Education to be the best part of every student’s day!!
Our Physical Education mission is to provide an opportunity for all students to experience a wide variety of activities, which contribute to a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical fitness. These group activities encourage students to develop good sportsmanship, social responsibility, make decisions in a group, compromise, and cooperate with others. The students will have so much fun learning new skills and engaging in physical activity!
As you and your child gets ready for the school year, please keep these items in mind as they pertain to the Physical Education program:
- Your child should have an SC PE uniform and gym shoes on all gym days in order to participate in PE class.
- Even on non-uniform days the students will need to have gym shoes in order to participate in class.
- A note should be sent to the PE teachers if your child has an injury or illness that prevents him/her from participating in PE for one or two days. A medical excuse is required for absences longer than two days. We also require a medical release when a student may resume participation during class.
- In order to have a safe and successful learning environment, the students will respect their peers, teachers and PE rules.
The specific policies will be discussed and reinforced during class. Thank you for your continued support of our Physical Education program! I am looking forward to seeing your children’s smiling faces.
